What a wonderful celebration and community event! On June 3, we honored The Nature Conservancy’s gift of putting the old IGA into the hands of the community with a “Handing over the Keys” ceremony. We had a great turnout for the event – our first Fix-It Day of the season - which included Fixing up MakeBoro and giving our Main Street a makeover by applying a bold, fresh coat of paint to the building façade. This is the first step in activating our “Community Front Porch.” While we work on rehabilitating the building, we are putting the space out front to use for our Fix-It Days, Arts + Innovation Workshops, and other events.
Our Fix-It Days are held the first Sunday of the Month. Our A+I Workshops are held the third Saturday of the month. All events will be held outdoors under our pop-up tents at Makeboro (the old IGA) unless otherwise noted. For the most current information about our events, please follow us on facebook.
Thanks to everyone who came out to help with making MakeBoro! Together we are making a wonderful space for our community to come together to collaborate and create!
